27 foods to eat after tooth extraction
Yes, I have gone through about 4 teeth recovery scenarios over the past month! But this is actually the one second one where I actually had a tooth taken out and it was a struggle to eat. The things that I really wanted to have (such as a burger, nachos, chips ect.) I couldn't because my teeth wouldn't really be okay with that considering the fact that they had work done on them...
It's been about a week since I went to the dentist to get my root canal and my tooth extracted and I could just say that it went by the little faster then I thought it would considering the fact that I have already been through wisdom teeth removal so I kind of already knew what to expect and what I shouldn't do. My recovery wasn't as bad and I think I would be okay with going through it again but I really wouldn't want to have two same time. As I went through day today thinking on the way that I could help others when they have dental appointments such as the ones I have had I wanted to put together a list. Just sharing what I have eaten for the past couple of days that are okay and safe as I am recovering.
So I'm here to share 27 Foods that pretty much saved my life when I wanted to eat! and these were some of the things I was comfortable with eating. And didn't have to eat soup for three or four straight days...
Waffles- a great and delicious food that will get you started on your day! It might be a little frustrating not to bite as much as you want but at least it's safe to eat.
Yogurt - you can never go wrong with yogurt, the good thing about it is that it comes in different flavors, and also different ways to eat it, from the little tubes or cups.
Ice Cream/ Sherbert- ice cream is not only a good way to taste something without biting but it's also a good way to calm the inflammation and numbness in the gum.
Applesauce - same as the yogurt and ice cream, you don't have to bite at all! Especially if you're just done with trying for the day.
Soup - Any soup! Go crazy with soups! I love Chicken noodle♥
Smoothies- You can create many different flavored smoothies with fruit.
Romen Noodles - personally the ramen noodles are definitely my favorite thing to eat, like anytime. So the fact that I could eat it as much as I wanted was actually really nice because now my mother can't tell me i shouldn't eat that stuff 😎
Pudding - chocolate, vanilla, or any of the ones that exist will also save your life and keep you happy.
Mashed Potatoes- I actually don't like eating mashed potatoes that much when I got my teeth pulled out or anything like that because I just feel like it tastes weird with the blood. But I can't complain because it did fill me up and was very easy to eat.
Macaroni & cheese- I love macaroni and cheese I definitely recommend it because it is so cheesy and you don't need to bite it.😍😋
Noodles/ Pasta- Noodles are just the best. I love them ♥
Instant Oatmeal - To be honest I never tried oatmeal, but I bet its a huge help.
Jell-o - The good jell-o! Easy to eat!
Eggs - this one was iffy for me but I don't see why not.
Fish - I love fish, but make sure it doesn't have the bones attached...
Baby food - such as Gerber, feels good to eat like a kid again👍
Bananas- or a very soft fruit!
Fruit cups - peaches, pears, pineapple, you name it.
Milkshakes- chocolates milkshakes are the bomb. without the straw of course.
Cheesecake- soft, dessert, you can never go wrong.
Rice - personally, I would love to take the rice and mix it with a sticky substance, such as sour cream, or anything else you don't mind it with.
Sloppy Joe- with out the bread, could also be eaten as a soup.
Chili - Wendy's chili was really helpful for me, it was good and never got tired of it.
Fries - depends one what day you eat it, might be better of if on the 3rd day. Just to practice chewing again.
Pies- Desserts and actual food, chicken pot pies, or apple pies, your choice :)
Soft sweet breads- Cupcakes, soft doughnuts, with some milk. #Loml
27. Meatballs w Rice- MY FAVORITE plate my mom makes, a good plate for dinner so you don't have an empty stomach, especially if your scared or tired of trying to eat .
This entire list was put together by only because these are the things that I have been eating since my first tooth recovery that was back in February and ever since then I have been trying to experiment with different types of foods that I could eat while I am recovering. This is my final list because I will no longer have dental appointments after this week's, it will be my last one and I am pretty much going to be done with all the dentist appointments for now. I really hope that this list will help those of you who goes through T recovery because I know it's hard to find foods to eat so here are some ideas ♥♥
