My Thoughts on.. (Mosiah 7)

A little bit about this chapter; (Heading)

Ammon finds the land of Lehi-Nephi, where Limhi is king—Limhi’s people are in bondage to the Lamanites—Limhi recounts their history—A prophet (Abinadi) had testified that Christ is the God and Father of all things—Those who sow filthiness reap the whirlwind, and those who put their trust in the Lord will be delivered.

I kind of wanted to start sharing my thoughts and teachings on the Book of Mormon and the chapter that I will be starting in is, the book of Mosiah because in these next chapters is when I actually started to use my journal and write down my thoughts on what I read & learned.

I only hope that my little thoughts about the teachings I learned will be here inspire you or make you think a little bit more about the things that the people and the prophets in The Book of Mormon went through so that we can have examples and reasons why we shouldn't choose the wrong and if we choose the Lord's way and have faith in him we will be able to be happy and be blessed throughout our days here.

So let's get right into it!

In this chapter it really shows how important records are! A lot of this is in the first-person narrative by Ammon, he starts to learn about Limhi's people through their records and their telling of what they went through. Teaches the importance of keeping a record (Journal) as well.

I learned how the decisions we make now affect not only us, but also Generations to come later on because Ammon comes to find out about the people in Lehi-Nephi and that were in bondage and we see that it happened because of King Noah's (Limhi's grandfather) mistakes when he was King and how his son Zeniff (Limhis Dad) also falls into the deal that King Noah had made with the Lamanites. He pretty much set him up to fail!

Because of Limhi's dad and grandfather not only is Limhi suffering because of the choices that they had made when they were King but it also affects his people and the fact that the lamanites that take advantage of Limhi's people.

My (and your) decisions now will impact my generations now and forever.

My favorite part about this chapter is that Limhi is actually a good person by having the desire in not following the same footsteps of his father and grandfather. If for some reason, some tradition that is not right, is being handed down to me, I could change it before things get worse, that's what Limhi teaches.

What I like about this chapter is the fact that not only did Lemhi care about his people so much that he wanted to get them out of bondage but also the fact that he was willing to listen and learn about the teachings, so much that later, he and his people want to be baptized. The scripture that I really loved in this chapter was verse 33.

33; But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.

This scripture speaks to me in many many ways.

I really hope that it spoke to you as well. -

If I were to share all my thoughts on this chapter, I would probably go on and on about endless ways that I can apply this to my life but I guess for now this is all I will share :)
